Outline
On October 1, 2019, the Center for Research on Counseling and Support Services was established as a new organization, including faculty members who were responsible for supporting international students at the International Education Support Room in the Division for Global Campus Initiatives, which was based on the five sections (Student Counseling Center, Office for Mental Health Support, Communication Support Room, Peer Support Room, and One-stop(Nandemo-sodan) Office) of the Division for Counseling and Support, which had been directly operated by the Office of the President since April 2008.
The Center for Research on Counseling and Support Services develops and implements counseling and support activities for the University's students and other constituents on a University-wide basis. This work is carried out in cooperation and collaboration with students, faculty, and staff, by specialists in psychology, psychiatry, multicultural community support, and related administrative staff. Additionally, the Center conducts practical and related research on counseling and support.
This Center is also one of the University Joint Education and Research Institutes, and will continue to provide counseling and support services for university members, including students, as well as expanding its consultation and support activities to include support for international students, employment support, and career development support, aiming to enhance the overall support system for the entire university.
